FTE Status:
0.90 FTE (36 hours/week)

Job Description:
Processes records and chart documents through the medical record work flow. Maintains data in the electronic medical record and computerized master patient index. Responds to requests for confidential health care information from external customers, including, but not limited to, patients, health care providers, insurance companies, attorneys, and regulatory agencies. Responds to requests, questions, and comments from other Medical Record Department customers. Provides support to other health information services' functions.
Qualifications:
In the process of completing a course from an accredited education program which provides exposure to health information management and includes a unit in medical terminology, i.e., Health Information Technology, Medical Assistant, Medical Office Mid-Management, Medical Record Technology, or applicable experience in a health care setting or medical insurance environment required. Clerical experience, including exposure to keyboarding, computers, filing systems and telephone etiquette, in a health care setting, previous experience in release of confidential health care information, and experience with patient registration and insurance processing preferred.
