Job incumbent will be responsible for working with project staff and communities to engage youth and young adults age 16-25 with serious mental disorders in relevant services and activities, as well as in represent the voice of youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and young adults with a serious mental illness (SMI) in the project's communities to the Healthy Transitions project team. Job incumbent will work with all Healthy Transitions staff to inform program decision making and implementation. Adhere to the TCC Ch'eghwtsen' model of service and guiding principle which requires providing timely and effective service along with the ability to interact with others in a way that inspires trust and demonstrates respect, compassion and empathy.

Representative Duties:

Under the general supervision of the Healthy Transitions Clinical Associate Lead job incumbent will: 1. Work with all program staff to represent the voice of youth and young adults with SED or SMI in program decision making and implementation. 2. Actively participate in the development of the project's outreach and communication plan, including a community level social marketing plan. 3. Actively participate in outreach efforts related to project efforts and services including outreach to tribes, communities and school districts. 4. Conduct village presentations and keep village councils informed about the status of services provided in the villages. 5. Act as advocate for youth and young adult clients. 6. Seek input of youth and young adults age 16-25 with SED or SMI in the project's communities on related services and supports, and actively contribute this input to all planning, implementation and evaluation activities. 7. Adhere to grant requirements for staff hired under the Healthy Transitions grant.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent. 2. Two years' work or volunteer experience with behavioral health or related field preferred. 3. Must have lived experience with a mental illness and must have received mental health services. 4. Must be familiar with the region's communities and be able to effectively communicate with the residents. 5. Demonstrated abilities to communicate both orally and in writing. 6. Basic computer skills. 7. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

1. Basic computer skills using electronic health records, scheduling systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Oracle programs. 2. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. 3. Must have initiative and prioritizing skills. 4. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. 5. Must maintain strict confidentiality, adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.

Supervision:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Supervision Physical demands:

Travel to villages, statewide and national meetings. May be exposed to certain conditions including, but are not limited to: travel by small aircraft, lack of running water, poor heat, sleeping on floors, and exposed to adverse weather conditions. Job incumbent must be able to physically travel by small aircraft and vehicle. Extended hours may be required. Position is mostly sedentary with extended periods sitting at desk/computer. Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 pounds in support of equipment and supplies. Must work effectively in a busy and sometimes stressful environment.

Driving Requirements:

Valid driver's license is required. This position will require you to drive your personal vehicle for TCC BH business. No employee may transport a patient in a personal vehicle.

Summation Summation:

Must be a self-starter, capable of independent judgment and thought, have ability to interpret state/government regulations and apply them to programmatic activities. Incumbent must be capable of meeting various deadlines and attend and participate in various committee and statewide meetings. Incumbent must have extensive experience working in the behavioral health care environment and be knowledgeable of laws and regulations that influence this environment. Work experience in the health care setting is crucial. Incumbent will work independently and within a teamwork environment at the local, rural and statewide levels.
