Summary:
The Nutrition, Health, & Disabilities Supervisor supports the implementation and quality assurance of Health, Nutrition, Mental Health, and Disabilities Services within the Head Start program. Reporting to the Nutrition, Health, & Disabilities Manager, the Supervisor ensures program compliance, service coordination, and continuous improvement to promote child and family well-being. Will work closely with all ACHR Centers (Darden in Opelika, King in Auburn, and Edelman in Hurtsboro).Primary duties:
Program Support & Service Coordination Assist in implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and systems that meet Head Start Program Performance Standards related to child health, nutrition, mental health, and disabilities. Support the coordination of health screenings, dental follow-ups, mental health consultations, and nutrition assessments for enrolled children. Work closely with Center Supervisors, Family Services staff, and Education teams to ensure integrated service delivery. Maintain relationships with medical, dental, mental health, and nutrition service providers to support child and family needs. Provide technical assistance and resources to staff and families on health, nutrition, mental health, and disability services. Compliance, Monitoring & Data Management Conduct periodic file reviews and center visits to monitor service delivery, health practices, safety procedures, and documentation compliance. Track service delivery and follow-up efforts to ensure timely interventions and program benchmarks are met. Assist with preparing required reports, maintaining confidential service records, and ensuring accurate data entry into program databases. Staff and Family Support Support the development and delivery of staff training on health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, child safety, and hygiene practices. Collaborate with the Manager to identify training needs and coordinate workshops, webinars, and in-service sessions. Provide consultation and support to families regarding health, nutrition, developmental concerns, and mental wellness. Attend case staffing meetings, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed. Continuous Improvement Participate in ongoing assessment of service areas to support quality improvement initiatives. Assist in gathering and analyzing service data to evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. Stay current on best practices and regulatory changes in child health, mental health, disabilities, and nutrition services.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Health Services, Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience in health, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, or early childhood education. Previous experience with Head Start preferred. Experience in case management, service coordination, or community health highly desirable.Benefits:
