The Senior Healthcare Billing Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for complex billing activities, revenue cycle optimization, team coaching, systems support, and process improvement. Reporting to the Billing Manager, this position serves as a subject matter expert for billing operations while supporting training, workflow management, and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do Perform advanced healthcare billing and revenue cycle functions. Lead, coach, and support billing colleagues through training and workflow guidance. Serve as a resource for denials, reimbursement issues, claim corrections, and complex billing scenarios. Support billing system implementations, upgrades, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Perform auditing and payment posting functions while ensuring accuracy, timely resolution of issues, and compliance with revenue cycle standards. Monitor work queues, balance workloads, and help drive departmental performance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cash collections, quality, and operational effectiveness. What You'll Bring 5+ years of healthcare billing and revenue cycle experience. Experience leading, training, or mentoring billing team members. Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, claims processing, denials, and reimbursement. Experience with billing systems, clearinghouses, EMR/EHR platforms, and Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding principles. Proven ability to improve processes, optimize systems, and solve complex billing challenges. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field. Experience in diagnostic imaging, radiology, or physician practice billing. CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or similar coding certification preferred.
