The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office by managing the appointment scheduling process effectively for our three doctors. This position requires exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, as the patient scheduler will interact with patients, dental staff, and medical professionals on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, enabling them to assist in optimizing scheduling to meet patient needs efficiently. Furthermore, the patient coordinator will be responsible for maintaining patient records, confirming appointments, and providing exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Manage and coordinate appointment schedules for dental patients. Confirm and remind patients of their scheduled appointments via phone or text. Collect and input patient information into the practice management system accurately and promptly. Maintain and update records for patient appointments, cancellations, referrals, and reschedules. Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally. Collaborate with dental staff to optimize scheduling and workflow within the practice. Assist with managing the schedule to minimize gaps and maximize efficiency of dental procedures. Requirements MUST be coachable & willing to learn. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus. Proven experience in a scheduling role, preferably in a dental or medical setting. Familiarity with dental procedures and terminology. Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff. Proficiency in using appointment scheduling software (Dentrix) and electronic medical records systems. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
