Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care through effective staffing, resource management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. This role supports patient flow, oversees daily operations, and promotes a positive, accountable work environment aligned with Mercy's mission and service standards.
Position Details:
Key Responsibilities Oversees patient care delivery using the nursing process and ensures coordination of care based on patient needs and staff competency Ensures appropriate staffing levels and collaborates on patient flow and bed management Serves as a leader, mentor, and role model; provides feedback, coaching, and accountability Promotes a positive work environment and staff engagement through shared governance and recognition Communicates effectively with leadership, staff, and providers; escalates issues as needed Supports regulatory compliance, policy adherence, and accreditation standards Participates in performance improvement, quality initiatives, and root cause analyses Addresses patient concerns and supports service recovery to improve satisfactionQualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing programPreferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Licensure:
Current RN licenseExperience:
3-5 years of hospital nursing experienceCertifications:
AHA Healthcare Provider (required or within probation) TNCC, ACLS, and ENPC or PALS (as applicable) Skills Strong clinical and leadership skills Effective communication and problem-solving Ability to support staff development and ensure quality patient care Why Mercy?
