Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate activities of all direct reports. Lead the development of training, quality improvement initiatives, and goals that enhance patient care by using clinical data to identify trends. Develop high performance clinical guidelines by using research and industry best practices. Collaborate with the Medical Director to ensure best practices in clinical. Develop and manage department level budgets for efficient resource use. Develop, manage, and instruct initial education programs. Develop, manage, and instruct new employee training programs. Develop, manage, and instruct ongoing education programs for employees and stakeholders. Conduct case revies and investigate issues or complaints of clinical nature. Represent the company at meetings requiring clinical input or representation Work with the leadership team to develop and carry out strategic plans. Keep supervisor informed on budget, clinical outcomes, compliance, and employee satisfaction. Carry and monitor communication devices. Serve as a field paramedic when needed. Ensure policy compliance and communicate updates to staff. Pursue continuing education to enhance leadership and encourage staff development. Remain available and provide leadership during high-demand periods. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, including ADA and Affirmative Action. Supervise, develop, and evaluate staff: provide coaching and manage performance. Travel as needed, including overnight or multi-day trips; personal vehicle may be required. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field (professional certifications and experience may be substituted). Five years of recent experience in Emergency Medical Services. Current certification as paramedic and ability to obtain Arkansas license. 3 years of experience in EMS education at a minimum of FTO level. Proven ability to develop and implement educational programs. Meets all qualifications for a field paramedic. Effective interpersonal skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Works effectively with co-workers and members of the public. BLS, ACLS, PALS and/or PEPP, PHTLS and/or
ITLS, AMLS
Instructor or ability to obtain within 90 days. NAEMSE Instructor I and II (or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 90 days
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
10 years of recent experience in Emergency Medical Services. 5 years of experience in EMS education management or clinical services. Master's degree in education, leadership, or related field.
