Job description: About the Practice & Role Buckeye Dental Implants & Oral Surgery is a surgeon-led specialty practice providing complex surgical care with precision and professionalism. Many of our patients arrive anxious, in pain, or uncertain about what to expect. The Patient Care Coordinator sets the tone for their entire experience. As the primary voice for patients and referring partners, you influence whether they feel informed, respected, and confident in their care. You will spend more time with patients than the surgeon does. Your communication, organization, and follow-through directly shape patient trust, case acceptance, and the long-term reputation of the practice. Responsibilities Patient Experience Serve as the primary point of contact by phone and in person. Set a calm, confident tone for patients preparing for surgery or sedation. Communicate clearly about procedures, expectations, and financial responsibilities. Pre-Appointment Readiness Ensure all required documentation, referrals, imaging, insurance verification, and authorizations are completed prior to consultation and surgery. Confirm paperwork, medical clearances, escorts, and NPO instructions before surgery day. Proactively follow up on missing information to prevent avoidable delays. Surgical Schedule Management Optimize and protect the surgical schedule. Minimize downtime and prevent preventable day-of-surgery disruptions. Coordinate closely with the clinical team to maintain efficient flow. Financial Coordination Present treatment plans and financial agreements clearly and professionally. Verify benefits and secure required authorizations prior to procedures. Maintain accuracy in documentation and claims tracking. Referral Communication Track referrals accurately and maintain timely communication with referring offices. Ensure documentation is organized and complete. Qualifications Required Experience in oral surgery or specialty dental coordination. Familiarity with sedation workflows and insurance authorization processes. Strong organization and disciplined follow-through. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Emotional composure in a fast-paced clinical setting. High comfort with technology and multi-software systems. Preferred Advanced specialty billing experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
