Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality & Patient Safety, the Clinical Risk Management Coordinator (CRMC) operates the organization-wide Risk Management program and provides guidance to MGRMC staff. This risk professional is responsible for investigating risk management events, reviewing and analyzing events in the risk event reporting system, assisting with proactive risk management educational initiatives, working on various insurance matters, including professional liability, general liability, property and auto insurance matters; as well as processing potential claims and handling claims and litigation matters on a day-to-day basis for the various lines of coverage for the hospital and clinics of Mt Graham Regional Medical Center. This individual serves as a resource and content expert for the entire organization among various enterprise risk management domains. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Proof of the highest level of education completed but not less than an Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a Healthcare related field. Two (2) years or more healthcare experience with one (1) year or more in leadership, quality, risk management, or patient safety. Maintains CPR Certification by the American Heart Association required or other approved educational programs Ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions. Ability to establish effective working relationships with others, including the medical staff. Ability to identify areas of Risk in the hospital setting Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form. An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management. Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance. Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job. Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds. Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency. Preferred Qualifications Baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a Healthcare related field. Three to five (3-5) years of experience in hospital healthcare and leadership positions. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), current or obtained within two (2) years. Previous Risk Management or Regulatory Compliance experience in a healthcare organization. Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
