Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Manager to oversee the operations of our diagnostic imaging department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical imaging services, combined with strong leadership and administrative capabilities. As the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and managing departmental staff and resources efficiently. Your expertise in medical office management, fiscal oversight, and technical proficiency will be essential to optimize departmental performance and patient care outcomes. Duties Direct and coordinate the service of radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures and complete regular quality checks on equipment to ensure proper function. Maintain a high degree of patient satisfaction. Assure customer/patient service needs are met. Monitor patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues. Participate in annual department budget creation; monitor and control expenditures to ensure the accomplishment of objectives within the approved budget; and manage budget through the year to reduce waste in time, resources, and processes. Negotiate, administer and monitor contracts with outside vendors, consultants for services and equipment within the department. Participate in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies and guidelines and manage yearly departmental goals to maintain focus, build teamwork and ensure outcomes. Maintain a positive working relationship with medical staff, nursing staff, and clinical staff. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors and other employees. Act as liaison between staff and administration. Advocate for staff; make recommendations based on staff input to CNO and administration. Identify areas of improvement for day to day operations, and collect input from employees to implement more efficient methods. Identify, develop and manage specific processes that develop staff morale, recognition and growth. Conduct regular communication with staff regarding departmental changes, needs and requirements. Maintain open door policy. Accomplish department and human resources objectives by selecting, orientating, training, coaching, and addressing personnel issues; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures to promote a productive and supportive work environment. Approve all payroll documentation including those dealing with sick leave, vacation, overtime, on-call pay and related matters. Assure employee competencies and long-term development through regular performance evaluations and promote professional development within the delivery of care. Organize available staff in such a way as to maximize quality patient care. Develop work schedules, on call assignments, and other methods of assuring adequate staff coverage; manage the scheduling of patients. Identify department specific education needs and opportunities, and communicate with Education Program Manager to facilitate and meet these needs. Attend management and clinical meetings on a regular basis. Oversee ordering and supplies. Participate and assist with Hospital-Wide Disaster/Emergency Preparedness. Understands role and appropriately responds in internal and external disasters and disaster drills. Perform job as working manager while fulfilling responsibilities supporting one or more modalities on a consistent schedule. Experience Proven management experience within a diagnostic imaging or radiology department in a healthcare setting. Demonstrated ability to supervise technical staff including radiologic technologists or similar roles with supervising experience preferred. Strong background in fiscal management including budgeting, financial oversight, and resource planning. Experience working within a critical access hospital. Knowledge of healthcare management principles including utilization management and managed care processes. Prior experience with medical administrative support functions such as scheduling systems and compliance documentation is essential. Experience in working within a critical access hospital.
Pay:
$70,886.00 - $88,608.00 per year
