This pivotal role involves overseeing daily clinic operations, managing financial and human resources, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in medical office management, healthcare practice oversight, and team supervision to ensure our center delivers exceptional care efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities Operations & Leadership Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of all ASC functions, including clinical, business office, materials, and support services Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance Lead daily/weekly operational huddles and maintain clear communication across departments Oversee scheduling, block time utilization, case volume, and OR efficiency metrics Ensure adequate staffing levels and productivity across clinical and non-clinical teams Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of accountability for the Center Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation Maintain full compliance with state ASC licensure requirements, CMS Conditions for Coverage, HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations Lead preparation for and successful completion of accreditation surveys (AAAHC, Joint Commission, AAAASF, or equivalent) Oversee the Quality Improvement / Performance Improvement program, infection control, risk management, and patient safety initiatives Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies and the Governing Board Maintain required logs, policies, and documentation for surveys and audits Financial Management Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets Monitor key financial metrics including net revenue, case costing, supply expense, labor productivity, and EBITDA Oversee revenue cycle performance in coordination with billing/collections partners (charge capture, coding accuracy, denial management, collections) Control supply and implant costs through preference card management, vendor negotiations, and utilization review Identify and implement cost-saving and revenue-enhancement opportunities Prepare and present monthly financial and operational reports to ownership / Governing Board Physician & Medical Staff Relations Serve as the primary administrative liaison to surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the Medical Staff Support credentialing, privileging, and peer review processes Facilitate Medical Executive Committee / Governing Board meetings and maintain accurate minutes Partner with physicians on block time, new service line development, and operational improvements Promote a collaborative, physician-friendly culture that supports retention and recruitment Human Resources & Staff Development Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention of ASC staff Ensure appropriate clinical competency validation and ongoing education Maintain a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and patient experience Administer or coordinate employee relations, corrective action, and recognition programs in accordance with company policy Patient Experience & Quality Drive superior patient satisfaction scores and service recovery processes Monitor clinical quality indicators, complication rates, transfer rates, and other outcomes metrics Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement Strategic Growth & Business Development Partner with ownership and physician leaders to identify and execute growth opportunities (new service lines, additional surgeons, volume initiatives) Support payer contracting strategy and maintain positive relationships with key payers Represent the ASC in community and professional settings as needed Contribute to long-range planning, facility needs, and capital prioritization Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred) Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, hospital surgical services, or similar outpatient surgical setting Strong working knowledge of ASC regulations, CMS Conditions for Coverage, and accreditation standards Demonstrated financial acumen (budgeting, P&L management, cost control) Excellent leadership, communication, and physician-relations skills Proficiency with healthcare information systems and Microsoft Office Preferred Current RN license (strongly preferred in many markets) Prior experience as ASC Administrator or Director of Nursing in a multi-specialty or orthopedic/spine ASC Experience with AAAHC, Joint Commission, or AAAASF accreditation Familiarity with revenue cycle, implant/supply cost management, and outpatient spine or orthopedic service lines Key Competencies Operational leadership and accountability Regulatory and accreditation expertise Financial and business acumen Physician partnership and relationship management Team leadership and staff development Patient-centered quality and safety focus Problem-solving and change management Working Conditions Full-time, on-site position.
