Job Description
Position Summary The Head of Service (HOS) is responsible for the operational oversight of the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The HOS ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive services while maintaining compliance with Community Care Licensing (CCL), Medi-Cal, county contracts, and STRTP regulations. The HOS works collaboratively with the Clinical Supervisor and multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and effective program operations. Essential Duties Provide operational leadership and oversight of the STRTP program. Ensure treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, and clinical reviews are completed within required timelines. Review documentation for compliance and coordinate with the Clinical Supervisor regarding quality assurance. Monitor documentation quality and support regular chart audits. Coordinate admissions, intake assessments, and discharge planning. Participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, IEP meetings, treatment reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Ensure youth receive timely medical, dental, vision, psychiatric, and behavioral health services. Collaborate with county social workers, probation officers, schools, psychiatrists, nurses, and community providers. Oversee crisis response and implementation of safety plans. Ensure compliance with Medi-Cal documentation standards, CARF standards, Community Care Licensing regulations, and STRTP requirements. Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Provide operational support to residential staff regarding program implementation. Participate in licensing, county, CARF, and DHCS audits. Maintain productivity expectations while ensuring high-quality services. Participate in the agency's on-call rotation as assigned. Prepare reports and monitor program outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field. Current California LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist, or Psychiatrist. Meets California STRTP Head of Service requirements. Experience providing services to youth in foster care or residential treatment. Supervisory and program management experience preferred. Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation, Community Care Licensing regulations, CARF standards, and trauma-informed care. Valid California driver's license and ability to pass DOJ/FBI background clearance. Preferred Skills Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent clinical judgment. Experience with electronic health records. Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong quality assurance experience.
