Opens a new window. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Quality Improvement Team Leader, the Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end authorization process. This includes collecting required documentation, communicating with provider offices, completing authorization requests, and collaborating with clinical, billing, and claims teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Obtain and manage prior and retro authorizations in accordance with established guidelines Verify pre-service requirements and ensure timely processing of authorization requests Communicate with referring provider offices to obtain missing documentation Maintain and track authorization requests to support clean claims billing Document authorization status and account activity accurately in EHR systems Identify and report authorization trends or issues impacting billing and reimbursement Provide excellent customer service to patients and internal/external stakeholders Schedule specialty appointments and coordinate transportation and interpretation services as needed Confirm new and return patient appointments in accordance with clinic guidelines Meet daily, weekly, and monthly productivity goals Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and follow all policies and procedures Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
