Pay:
From $22.00 per hour Part-Time or Full-Time Available Monday through Friday In-Person Position Join Our Team Sleep Disorder Center is a specialty medical practice in Camarillo focused on diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, with a primary focus on obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing conditions. Our team supports patients through every stage of care, including home sleep testing, treatment coordination, PAP therapy, oral appliance referrals, telemedicine appointments, and ongoing aftercare. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Patient Setup Coordinator to guide patients through the beginning of their prescribed sleep treatment. This is a hands-on, patient-facing healthcare position. The Patient Setup Coordinator conducts scheduled one-hour appointments, provides equipment demonstrations and education, answers patient questions, and ensures each patient feels comfortable and confident beginning therapy. The position also includes patient scheduling, documentation, follow-up, basic troubleshooting, and coordination with treatment providers and internal team members. Hands-on training is provided for our specialty-specific equipment, systems, and workflows. Responsibilities Conduct scheduled one-hour, face-to-face patient setup appointments Educate patients on their prescribed sleep therapy and treatment equipment Demonstrate how to properly use, clean, and care for equipment Assist patients with mask fitting and basic comfort adjustments Provide clear, step-by-step instructions in an easy-to-understand manner Answer patient questions and address concerns with patience and professionalism Ensure patients feel informed, supported, and confident before leaving their appointment Schedule and confirm setup and follow-up appointments Conduct outbound follow-up to support treatment success and continued use Assist patients with basic equipment questions and troubleshooting Maintain accurate chart notes, setup documentation, and communication records Coordinate treatment orders and documentation with providers and equipment partners Track equipment, supplies, and office inventory Support treatment pathways involving CPAP, APAP, EPAP, and oral appliance therapy Collaborate with providers and team members to maintain an efficient patient care process Required Qualifications Candidates must have a medical background and meet at least one of the following requirements: Minimum of one year of medical office, healthcare, or direct patient care experience Current or previous medical certification, such as Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT, phlebotomy, respiratory care, or another related healthcare certification Previous hands-on experience providing direct patient care, patient education, treatment instruction, or medical equipment support Additional requirements include: Knowledge of medical terminology Experience working directly with patients in person Strong bedside manner and patient communication skills Ability to explain medical instructions clearly and professionally Professional phone and written communication Strong administrative and organizational skills Computer proficiency and the ability to learn office and electronic medical record systems Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English and Spanish Experience with CPAP, APAP, respiratory equipment, or durable medical equipment Experience with patient education, equipment setup, or appointment-based treatment instruction Specialty medical office experience Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working directly with patients Is warm, patient, reassuring, and professional Is comfortable conducting full one-hour patient appointments Communicates instructions clearly and confidently Understands the importance of bedside manner Stays organized and follows through Learns quickly and adapts well Takes initiative and solves problems Works well with patients, providers, and team members Is interested in a long-term opportunity in healthcare Schedule Monday through Friday Part-time and full-time options available In-person at our Camarillo office Benefits Paid Sick Time Opportunities for advancement Hands-on specialty training Long-term growth opportunity If you have a medical background, strong patient communication skills, and enjoy helping patients feel comfortable and supported as they begin treatment, we would love to hear from you.
