POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the daily business operations of Home Medical Equipment. The Manager has direct reporting responsibility for the Home Medical Equipment department. This includes direct responsibility for all staff evaluations, regulatory requirements, financial performance and quality of service delivery. The Manager is responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to assure success in financial management, human resources management, business development, leadership, quality and operational management objectives. The Manager participates in program development and unit performance improvement. Strong analytical skills are required to provide assistance with departmental financial performance review, budget preparations, and other special projects. Must have the ability to interpret financial, statistical and operational data. Must have strong computer skills and experience with spreadsheet, word processing, and database applications. The Manager consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees. The Manager operationalizes Enloe Medical Center's mission. This position functions as the onsite administrator. The Manager:
Maintains financial expertise in relation to Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and acts as liaison with the Finance department. Monitors sales revenue, AR, and product service line finances Participates in the business development of Home Medical Equipment. Responsible for the development and management of the department budget and productivity targets. Maintains professional knowledge of forthcoming changes in the field of healthcare as it relates to DME. Redesigns system processes to best provide enhanced, effective patient centered care in an efficient cost saving manner. Implements and monitors the effectiveness of process changes. Provides accurate financial reports and analysis for the HME business line. Manages human resources utilization, promotes employee satisfaction, supports staff development, and utilizes the progressive discipline process when appropriate. Supports organizational goals and decisions, implements necessary changes, and participates in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization. Maintains and promotes quality service and best practice. Participates in quality improvement processes and assures implementation of regulatory standards. Ensures service is provided considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of the patients served. Translates knowledge of professional and regulatory standards to policies, practices and procedures and maintains a working knowledge of current changes consistent with Enloe Health's standards and other regulatory requirements. Researches interdepartmental problems/issues and takes corrective action in a timely manner and promotes respectful responsive communication between departments to promote patient centered care. Supervises daily operations of the department with direct oversight of Home Medical Equipment staff. Acts as a resource to other departments for education and information in area of expertise. Cultivates and maintains positive community, organizational, clinic, physician, and colleague relationships, both internal and external, through regular communications, networking, and business outreach opportunities. Collaborates with Administration and Marketing to increase the volume and revenue of the service line in the primary and secondary market areas. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Health Care Administration or related field. One-year healthcare management experience Desired:
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field. Experience in the Durable Medical Equipment field. Experience in billing, revenue cycle, accounting. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes is necessary as well as the ability to successfully integrate these into practice for the assigned unit. Must have knowledge of or ability to learn financial management and reporting, quality improvement processes, and human resources management. Must be able to effectively monitor, evaluate and administer the resources of their assigned area, and make substantiated recommendations regarding resource allocation needs for future planning purposes. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally both one-on-one and in groups. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve.
