CVICU CVICU
is a dynamic, fast paced 29-bed ICU that specializes in caring for patients post open heart, cardiogenic shock, ECMO, VADs, cardiac advanced support devices and CRRT. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse manager to lead our high acuity intensive care unit. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional patient care, and fostering a collaborative environment among multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced critical care setting. As the manager, you will work with a dynamic multidisciplinary cohesive team, align unit goals with hospital strategy, and champion innovative care and safety practices. The unit manager places the patient's needs, preferences and values at the core of every decision, transforming care to a collaborative holistic process to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. Position Responsibilities This RN Manager creates and maintains an environment that assures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the daily operations of assigned nursing unit. Creating and managing staffing plans. Ensuring appropriate equipment and resources are available to staff to do their job. Ensuring appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology. Ensuring adherence to care processes for bed placement, patient transfer, patient transport, room cleaning and patient discharge. Ensuring the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care. Supporting active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care. Providing direct hand-off to the next appropriate level of care. Accountable for meeting operational budgets for assigned department(s).
