Our medically monitored detox environment and structured residential program are built on evidence-based, trauma-informed principles — supported by a close-knit interdisciplinary team committed to compassionate, high-quality care. We hold ourselves to the highest clinical and regulatory standards, maintaining compliance with DHCS and The Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Our program is led by a PsyD-level Clinical Director whose presence ensures both clinical excellence and meaningful mentorship for every member of our team. Position Overview The Primary Therapist is a core member of our clinical team, responsible for delivering individualized care across the full continuum of our detox and residential program. This role requires a clinician who is grounded, adaptable, and energized by the complexity of early recovery — someone who can meet clients in acute detox and walk with them into the early stages of residential treatment. We welcome both licensed clinicians and registered associates (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) to apply. Associates will receive BBS-compliant supervision from our on-site PsyD Clinical Director, making this an excellent opportunity to accumulate hours in a structured, supportive clinical environment. We actively look for ways to incorporate each therapist's strengths into our evolving clinical program. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning

• Conduct comprehensive Biopsychosocial Assessments (BPS) at intake, evaluating mental health, substance use history, social functioning, and presenting risk factors
• Administer and interpret the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) and other standardized clinical tools as part of the admissions and ongoing outcomes process
• Develop individualized master problem lists and SMART-goal-based treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
• Conduct weekly treatment plan reviews, adjusting interventions based on client progress and evolving clinical needs Direct Clinical Care
• Provide individual therapy sessions addressing addiction recovery, co-occurring mental health conditions, trauma, and relapse prevention
• Facilitate group therapy on topics including coping skills, emotional processing, relapse prevention, psychoeducation, and trauma recovery
• Conduct family therapy sessions as clinically appropriate to support healing and strengthen the client's support system
• Coordinate with nursing and medical staff during the medically monitored detox phase, communicating clinically relevant observations in real time
• Provide crisis intervention and support during acute client situations, escalating to the Clinical Director and medical team as indicated
• Educate clients and families on treatment goals, clinical rationale, and the recovery process Documentation, Compliance & Collaboration
• Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate clinical documentation — including BPS assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries — in compliance with DHCS and The Joint Commission accreditation standards
• Complete initial and concurrent utilization review documentation to support insurance authorization processes
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to review client progress and align on treatment direction
• Engage in ongoing clinical supervision with the PsyD Clinical Director to deepen case conceptualization and professional development Qualifications
• Master's degree or higher in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field (required)
• Active CA registration or licensure: AMFT, ACSW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or PsyD
• Familiarity with CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing; additional specialties welcomed
• Experience in residential or higher-acuity treatment settings preferred; comfort with medically monitored environments a plus
• Working knowledge of DHCS and Joint Commission documentation requirements, or willingness to learn
• Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
