PTCB Certification Typing Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician Lead-Two (2) Inpatient, works under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, functions in accordance with standard procedures and guidelines in assisting pharmacists in dispensing and billing of medications and maintaining adequate floor stock and emergency stock within the Medical Center. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology or completed a course of training specified by the Board required. Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Computer data input, manipulation of syringes. Ability to maintain good public relation skills. Requires typing and manipulation of oral syringes. Able to interact positively with broad range of co-workers, promotes team work. Willingness to work under direct supervision. Pharmaceutical calculations, interpretation of medication orders. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently, frequent task changing with accuracy. Telephone communication, visual interpretation, auditory recognition. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications:
California Pharmacy Technician license required. Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required (PTCB).
