Tech Summary:
We are seeking a Principal Applications Coordinator for Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP), the highest-level Application Coordinator (AC) role within the organization. This individual will serve as the technical authority for Beaker CP, providing leadership across application architecture, design, build, integration, testing, and optimization efforts. The role requires deep Epic Beaker CP expertise, the ability to lead complex enterprise initiatives, and the capability to influence technical strategy, standardization, and operational excellence across multiple KP markets.

Serve as the senior technical lead and subject matter expert for Epic Beaker CP, guiding architecture, design decisions, and complex solutioning. Lead large-scale implementation and optimization efforts, translating clinical and operational requirements into scalable, supportable solutions. Provide technical oversight and mentorship to application teams while driving standardization, governance, and alignment with enterprise laboratory strategies.
Job Summary:
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for serving as a lead expert in configuring complex system builds, testing, validation, and ongoing production support of assigned applications. This position will possess clinical or IT systems knowledge and experience to develop and support safe and high quality care using the electronic health record. This position will provide consultation on the in depth and precise investigation and documentation of future- state operational specifications and application functionality by leading the analysis of application capabilities, workflows, data collection, report details, and other clinical and/or technical issues associated with Epic software. This position is also responsible for designing, developing, and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with Epic applications. Some of the unique challenges this position will face include analyzing clinical and business operations and investigating user preferences; prioritizing & implementing requested system changes & updates; serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff. This position also drives the development and documentation of internal procedures, the preparation of specifications for system enhancements, and the analysis and testing of new release functionality. 3-5
Essential Responsibilities:

Collaborates with technical and project team leaders to resolve complex system problems and application-specific issues, and provides consultation on the design and architecture of technology environments across the enterprise. Escalates unresolved or critical issues, risks or problems to system engineers and management. Plans and performs complex system configuration by performing proactive and predictive analysis of environment configurations, and resolving system and network integration issues. Plans the maintenance, modification, and documentation of applications; recommending system or integration changes based on the cost/benefit of available solutions. Creates complex documentation of new and existing system configuration and procedural information, and supports others in ensuring system configurations documentation is complete and accurate. Leads hardware and software changes for multiple IT production environments by performing impact analyses of system changes. Recommends and executes complex performance tuning and optimization activities. Evaluates existing technical resources to determine coverage of the necessary skills and knowledge required to meet ongoing business demands.

Five (5) years experience in EPIC administration and configuration. Five (5) years experience in the administration and custom configuration of large of-the-shelf applications or software packages.
