Rancho Cucamonga, CA Job Details Full-time $50,984.86 - $61,401.12 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Staff supervision Teamwork Operations management Team supervision Maintaining patient confidentiality Social service program staff supervision Performance management Emergency response in crisis intervention Team development Experience working with individuals with trauma-related disorders Working with families Quality audits General management Working with youth Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Position Summary The Head of Services (HOS) is responsible for providing clinical leadership, oversight, and direction for the therapeutic and behavioral health services provided within the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The HOS ensures that services are delivered in accordance with applicable California regulations, licensing requirements, the program's policies and procedures, trauma-informed principles, and each youth's individualized treatment needs. The HOS works collaboratively with the Administrator, clinical team, direct-care staff, county representatives, behavioral health providers, families, schools, and other involved professionals to ensure that each youth receives appropriate, timely, and clinically appropriate services. The HOS serves as a key member of the program's leadership team and promotes a safe, therapeutic, culturally responsive, and youth-centered environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Provide clinical leadership and oversight of behavioral health and therapeutic services provided to youth. Ensure services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, individualized, and consistent with each youth's treatment needs. Provide clinical consultation and guidance to therapists, clinicians, and other service providers. Participate in treatment planning, case reviews, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Monitor the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of services provided to youth. Assist in identifying changes in a youth's clinical presentation, behavioral needs, or level of care. Support the development and implementation of individualized treatment interventions. Promote positive behavioral support, skill development, emotional regulation, resiliency, and successful transition to a lower level of care. Regulatory and Program Compliance Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with applicable California STRTP licensing requirements and behavioral health regulations. Maintain awareness of applicable laws, regulations, county requirements, and contractual obligations affecting clinical services. Ensure required clinical documentation is completed accurately, timely, and maintained in accordance with program requirements. Support the program during licensing reviews, audits, inspections, and other compliance activities. Assist with developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to clinical and therapeutic services. Monitor compliance with documentation, treatment planning, progress notes, assessments, and other required clinical records. Identify areas of non-compliance or quality concerns and develop corrective action plans when necessary. Staff Supervision and Development Provide supervision and/or clinical consultation to appropriately qualified clinical staff, as permitted by applicable licensure and regulations. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and evaluating clinical and therapeutic staff. Ensure staff understand their roles, responsibilities, ethical obligations, and program expectations. Provide or coordinate ongoing training related to trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, de-escalation, youth development, behavioral health, and other applicable topics. Promote professional development and competency among clinical staff. Address performance concerns and provide appropriate coaching and corrective guidance. Youth Care and Treatment Advocate for the safety, dignity, rights, and well-being of each youth served. Ensure youth receive services consistent with their individualized treatment plans. Participate in crisis response and provide clinical guidance during behavioral or mental health emergencies. Assist staff in developing appropriate interventions for challenging behaviors. Support family engagement and collaboration when appropriate. Participate in discharge and transition planning to promote continuity of care. Help ensure youth are prepared for transition to a lower level of care whenever clinically appropriate. Documentation and Quality Assurance Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance. Establish and/or participate in internal quality assurance processes for clinical services. Monitor service delivery and identify trends, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Participate in audits of clinical records and assist with corrective action activities. Ensure clinical records support services billed and/or reported by the program. Collaborate with administrative and billing staff to resolve documentation or service-delivery discrepancies. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with the Administrator and program leadership regarding clinical operations. Participate in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team meetings. Communicate effectively with county agencies, behavioral health professionals, schools, families, medical providers, and other authorized partners. Maintain professional relationships with referral and community partners. Communicate significant clinical, safety, and treatment concerns to appropriate leadership in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate must meet the education, experience, and professional credentialing requirements applicable to the HOS position under current California STRTP regulations and the program's applicable behavioral health contract requirements.
