• Full-Time Days, 40 hours per week Boulder Community Health is seeking a Lead Clinical Assistant who is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and the efficient operation of physician clinics within the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center.

This role oversees clinical support staff schedules, workflows, procedures, and protocols; ensures staff perform duties within their scope of practice; provides direct patient care, including intake, reporting pertinent history, coordinating physician-ordered interventions, preparing patients for injections, applying and removing casts, fitting splints, assisting with patient flow, and coordinating X-ray triage as needed; manages medical supply inventory; and provides leadership through staff scheduling, onboarding and training, assisting with the SEE performance evaluation process, and supporting the supervision and development of clinical support staff.

• Must have a minimum of a BS degree in a health related field for athletic training.
• BLS certification by the end of the conditional period required.
• State of Colorado Licensure for Athletic Training
• Board of Certification for Athletic Training
• ATC or medical back office experience in Orthopedic/Sports Medicine preferred.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience preferred. Responsibilities
• Manages Physician Support Team; pod support staff schedule
• Assists in the Annual Review process for other pod support staff
• Assists in timekeeping system (API) for all pod support staff.
• Trains pod support staff in office protocol and procedure and updates protocol/procedures as needed.
• Directs patients to appropriate treatment room, performs appropriate patient intake depending on the patient's practitioner.
• Provides patient teaching when appropriate.
• Assists physicians and PT staff with patient treatment as appropriate, within scope of their practice.
• Assist with implementation of physicians orders (i.e., schedule x-rays, prep for injections, removal of sutures, taking of vital signs, etc.)
• Orders and maintains medical supplies.
• Establishes protocol for the physician pod support team to prepare and maintain clinic patient care areas and utility areas for safe use.

Patient care areas include:

examination rooms and cast room.

Utility rooms include:

whirlpool room, supply areas, lab, and refrigerators.

• Maintains records as needed.
• Inputs patient information into electronic patient medical record as necessary.
• Phlebotomy trained and oversees necessary requirements and protocols for staff.
• Understands and practices lab protocol, and oversees staff requirements.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology and medical systems.
• Acts as information liaison between clinicians and patients and participating physicians and CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center.
• Provides back up to the Sports Medicine Admin Team.
• Performs other assignments or special projects as requested by the directors or coordinators.
