seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Treatment & Insurance Coordinator to join our specialty periodontal practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, understands dental insurance, takes pride in financial accuracy, and wants to play an essential role in helping patients receive the treatment they need. You will be responsible for ensuring insurance information is accurate before appointments, presenting treatment plans with confidence, creating accurate financial estimates, and managing patient accounts to maintain timely collections. You will also assist with patient check-out and answering phones as part of our collaborative front office team. Responsibilities Insurance Verification Verify all dental insurance benefits before patient appointments. Ensure insurance information is complete and accurate within the patient chart. Verify deductibles, annual maximums, remaining benefits, frequencies, waiting periods, and patient co-pays. Document insurance benefits clearly for the clinical and administrative team. Maintain accurate insurance information and update changes promptly. Treatment Coordination Present treatment plans and financial arrangements professionally and confidently. Prepare accurate treatment estimates based on verified insurance benefits. Educate patients on their financial responsibility and available payment options. Help patients move forward with recommended treatment by providing a positive, supportive experience. Accounts Receivable Monitor patient ledgers to ensure balances are collected accurately and promptly. Follow up on outstanding patient balances. Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate patient financial records. Assist in reducing accounts receivable by ensuring estimates, collections, and patient ledgers remain current. Front Office Support Check patients in and out. Answer incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently. Provide outstanding customer service to every patient. Support the front office team as needed to ensure a smooth patient experience. About Our Team This position works alongside a second front office coordinator who manages scheduling, production goals, referral tracking, new patient coordination, and practice metrics. This allows you to focus primarily on insurance verification, treatment coordination, financial arrangements, and patient accounts while working as part of a supportive team. Qualifications Previous dental front office experience required. Experience verifying dental insurance benefits. Experience presenting treatment plans and financial arrangements. Strong understanding of dental insurance and patient estimates. Experience managing patient accounts and accounts receivable preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Able to prioritize tasks and work independently. Positive attitude with a team-first mindset.
