Description Director Perioperative Services UCHlth Med Ctr of the
Rockies, Loveland, CO, SYS Regional Perioperative Sup Pay:
$144,872 - $231,795 / year. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Summary Directs all perioperative services and resources to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with the organization's mission, values, and strategic priorities. Provides operational and clinical leadership across surgical services, driving performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities The Perioperative Director plays a critical role in advancing the health system's strategic and operational goals by:Establishing Strategic Direction:
Develops and executes departmental goals, strategic plans, and performance standards aligned with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Driving Operational Excellence:
Leads, evaluates, and continuously improves perioperative operations, including surgical throughput, case scheduling, patient flow, and utilization of technology, to achieve quality, safety, and efficiency targets.Ensuring Quality & Patient Experience:
Oversees quality assurance, patient safety initiatives, and service recovery processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and achievement of clinical and patient satisfaction outcomes.Leading Talent & Workforce Strategy:
Directs all aspects of workforce management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, disciplinary actions, and professional development to build a high-performing team.Financial Stewardship:
Develops, monitors, and manages departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility, cost-effective operations, and alignment with financial targets. Leads internal and external audit coordination and compliance efforts. Collaborating Across theSystem:
Partners with physician leaders, nursing leadership, and cross-functional teams to optimize care delivery models, service line growth, and system-wide initiatives.Driving Change & Innovation:
Leads process improvement initiatives, implements best practices, and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within perioperative services. Candidate Qualifications The ideal candidate is a strategic and operationally focused healthcare leader with demonstrated success in managing complex perioperative environments. They bring a strong balance of clinical expertise, financial acumen, and the ability to lead teams through growth, change, and performance improvement. This individual is collaborative, data-driven, and skilled at influencing across multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a strong focus on patient outcomes and staff engagement.Minimum Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.Licensure/Certification:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative or surgical services; experience leading strategic initiatives and large teams preferred.Credentials:
