About The Career:
The purpose of this position is to review medical records in real-time while the patient is still hospitalized. The core responsibility is to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or ambiguities in provider, nursing, and coding documentation. The CDI Coordinator issues active clarifications, ensuing the medical record reflects the patient's true severity of illness, risk of mortality, and that actual complexity of care provided.
All About You :
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Colorado. Knowledge of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage Minimum of three (3) years acute hospital nursing experience required; two (2) to three (3) years Case Management experience preferred; and one (1) to two (2) years Utilization Review experience preferred. Certification as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or other similar certification through ACDIS within 3 years.
