This energetic position offers the opportunity to coordinate surgical schedules, manage patient documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver top-tier medical services. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help streamline procedures, enhance patient experiences, and support our commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery. All roles are paid positions, including internships, emphasizing our dedication to valuing every team member. Responsibilities Coordinate surgical schedules by liaising with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and patients to ensure timely procedures. Prepare and review patient documentation, including medical histories, consent forms, and pre-operative assessments. Verify insurance coverage and conduct insurance authorization and verification processes using systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to ensure accurate and complete documentation. Assist with medical billing and coding processes by applying
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes accurately for procedures and diagnoses. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers via phone etiquette, ensuring clear instructions and compassionate service. Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical records and information. Requirements Proven experience in medical administrative support within a clinical or hospital setting; clinic experience preferred. Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms. Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and Medicare guidelines. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to review documentation thoroughly and manage multiple priorities efficiently. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with strong typing skills (including 10-key typing). Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience at the front desk or office management roles. Experience with dental terminology or dental office management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous for clinics that integrate dental services. Ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
