Job Description
Visage Dermatology & Laser Center is seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate Front Office Patient Services Coordinator to join our growing team. We are looking for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care from the moment each patient walks through our doors. Dermatology experience is strongly preferred. Position Summary The Front Office Patient Services Coordinator serves as the first impression of our practice. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and efficient office operations. This is a detail-oriented role requiring professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy. Essential Responsibilities Welcome patients with professionalism and compassion Check patients in and out efficiently Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances according to practice policy Obtain and scan insurance cards, photo identification, and required documentation Assist patients with electronic registration and patient portal access Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments while following provider scheduling protocols Answer multiple phone lines with excellent customer service Manage appointment reminders, recalls, cancellations, and wait lists Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Document all patient communications accurately in the electronic medical record Process referrals and obtain authorizations when required Coordinate with providers, medical assistants, and billing staff to ensure efficient patient flow Maintain an organized front office and reception area Perform additional administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of medical front office experience Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong computer skills Experience verifying medical insurance eligibility Ability to multitask in a high-volume practice Professional appearance and demeanor Strong attention to detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Dermatology experience Experience with ModMed EMA or Modernizing Medicine Knowledge of medical terminology Prior authorization experience Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, and managed care plans We Are Looking for Someone Who Takes initiative without being asked Maintains a positive attitude under pressure Works well independently and as part of a team Learns quickly and embraces change Demonstrates accountability and professionalism Has exceptional organizational skills Provides every patient with an outstanding experience Schedule Full-Time Minimum of 35 hours per week Monday-Friday Must be willing to work at both our St. Petersburg and Palmetto offices as business needs require.
