St. Petersburg, Florida (In Person) Bi-Lingual Spanish Required Overview St. Petersburg Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Billing Manager to support the daily operations of our billing department. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with strong knowledge of CPT and ICD‑10 coding, a solid understanding of the revenue cycle, and a passion for team leadership. The Assistant Billing Manager will work closely with the Billing Manager to ensure accurate, complaint, and efficient billing processes across the practice. A key responsibility of this position includes training new billing associates, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to succeed in their roles. This position is based in our administrative office in St. Petersburg, Florida. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Billing Manager in overseeing daily billing operations and workflow
  • Train, mentor, and support new hire billing associates, including onboarding and ongoing skill development
  • Provide guidance and coaching to billing staff to promote accuracy and efficiency
  • Monitor accuracy of patient billing and demographic information
  • Review and approve insurance and patient payment posting
  • Oversee claim review processes, ensuring errors are identified and corrected prior to submission
  • Manage complex insurance denials and escalated claim issues
  • Assist with implementing billing policies and procedures
  • Support insurance eligibility verification processes
  • Communicate professionally with insurance companies regarding claims, payments, and escalations
  • Handle escalated patient billing inquiries with professionalism and clarity
  • Ensure billing practices comply with regulatory and payer requirements
  • Collaborate with front‑office and clinical teams to support a timely and efficient revenue cycle
  • Provide reporting and performance updates to the Billing Manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned Skills

  • Proficiency with computers, including email, typing, and Microsoft Office
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lead, support, and motivate team members
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment
  • In‑depth knowledge of medical billing and coding processes Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required, additional education in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of medical billing experience required
  • Working knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding
  • Prior experience in leadership, supervisory, or training role preferred
  • Ability to support and align with the practice's mission, vision, and goals
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
