Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist & Patient Coordinator to join our dynamic dental team. This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with patient coordination, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment. Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and providing excellent customer service. Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software Dentrix Ascend, while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and efficiency. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks on the schedule Collect payments, process dental collections, and manage billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain accurate and organized Dental records, including documentation review and electronic health records (EHR) Assist patients with intake forms, explain treatment plans, and address inquiries related to dental insurance and coverage options. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while supporting office management tasks such as documentation review and ADA coding Experience Prior experience in a dental office or healthcare setting is highly preferred, especially in roles involving medical administrative support or front desk duties. Demonstrated proficiency with Dentrix, or Dentrix Ascend or similar software Strong knowledge of dental billing procedures, insurance verification processes, and health information management practices. Experience with dental terminology and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance with HIPAA standards. Excellent communication skills—bilingual abilities are a plus—to effectively assist diverse patient populations. Proven ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining professionalism in a busy clinic environment. Competency in Microsoft Office applications along with basic computer skills necessary for documentation review and administrative tasks.
