Job Description

Surgery/Biopsy Coordinator We are an expanding dermatology practice seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Surgery/Biopsy Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in coordinating patient care following biopsies and ensuring timely communication, treatment coordination, scheduling, and documentation. The Surgery/Biopsy Coordinator is responsible for managing post-biopsy patient communications, coordinating appropriate follow-up care and procedures based on provider instructions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting patients throughout the treatment process. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, a commitment to excellent patient service, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Contact patients regarding biopsy and pathology results as directed by the provider and accurately document all patient communications. Provide compassionate and professional support to patients by anticipating concerns, addressing questions, and helping alleviate anxiety related to diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and upcoming procedures. Coordinate and schedule follow-up appointments, surgical procedures, or alternative treatments according to provider instructions. Ensure appropriate and timely follow-up for patients requiring additional treatment or care. Prepare and send certified letters to patients when required and maintain appropriate documentation. Maintain accurate logs, tracking systems, and patient records to ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care. Monitor outside laboratory portals for pathology and other relevant results and ensure patient charts are updated accurately and promptly. Communicate and coordinate with providers, clinical staff, laboratories, and other team members as necessary to facilitate patient care. Answer incoming telephone calls and provide professional and courteous assistance to patients. Assist with front desk and other administrative responsibilities as needed. Maintain patient confidentiality and handle all protected health information in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice. Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate should possess: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. A compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through on outstanding patient needs. Comfort and proficiency using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications. Strong information analysis and problem-solving skills. General math skills. The ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. A positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional patient service. Experience and Education At least one year of medical office experience is preferred , particularly in a dermatology or other healthcare setting. Experience coordinating patient care, scheduling procedures, or working with pathology results is a plus. Position Details This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package after 60 days of employment . Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
