Union County EMS Director of Emergency Medical ServicesPosition SummaryThe Director of Emergency Medical Services is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and operational management of the EMS department. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency medical care while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect, supervise, and evaluate EMS personnelEstablish departmental goals and strategic plansDevelop policies and proceduresServe as liaison with county officials and healthcare partnersOperations ManagementOversee daily EMS operations and emergency responseCoordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource deploymentEnsure readiness of ambulances, equipment, and suppliesFinancial OversightDevelop and manage department budgetOversee EMS billing and financial reportingApprove expenditures and payrollCompliance and Quality AssuranceEnsure compliance with all EMS regulationsReview patient care reports for quality and accuracyImplement quality improvement initiativesTraining and DevelopmentCoordinate staff training and continuing educationEvaluate competency and performance of personnelEmergency PreparednessCoordinate with fire, law enforcement, and emergency agenciesLead disaster response planning and drillsMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in EMS, Healthcare Administration, or related fieldParamedic certification (state required)Progressive EMS leadership experienceWork EnvironmentCombination of office and field workExposure to emergency scenes and hazardous conditionsMay require 24/7 availability for emergencies
