Unit Coordinator MedSurg

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Unit Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Medical Surgical Department by delivering exceptional customer service, coordinating communication, and ensuring efficient administrative and clinical support processes. This role is responsible for facilitating seamless interaction between patients, providers, nursing staff, and other departments to promote a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment. The Coordinator performs receptionist and clerical duties to ensure efficient clinic workflow and may assist with patient rooming, transport, specimen handling, and support functions as delegated within scope of practice.

EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or equivalent required. CPR Certification required. CNA, CMA, or EMT certification preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1-3

years' work experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred. May consider experience in a service industry with a strong ability for excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Prior procedure authorization & patient scheduling experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Basic computer skills to include data entry and retrieval is required. Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal direct supervision.

Salary Range:

$16.00-$26.60

Part Time, Day Shift, Varies as needed from 6:00am - 6:00pm, Opportunity for full time , if desired.
