Job Description
KOI Outpatient Imaging Services Coordinator Location Coeur d'Alene, ID Facility Kootenai Outpatient Imaging Department KOI
- Imaging Services
- Ironwood Schedule/Shift/Hours PRN
- (As Needed)
- Variable Category Clerical Hours Per Pay Period 0.
- Complies with all Kootenai Health confidentiality and HIPAA standards
- Functions as the communication center for outpatient imaging, coordinating between patients, technologists, radiologists, and referring providers
- Obtains orders, imaging history, and medical necessity documentation as required. Verifies and transcribes imaging orders into EHR systems
- Understands and applies modality-specific imaging order protocols; edits and verifies orders ensuring compliance with modality-specific protocols and troubleshooting discrepancies
- Provides patients with detailed exam instructions and imaging safety screening documentation, such as safety questionnaires and prep forms
- Ensures patient demographics and insurance information is maintained in appropriate EHR systems
- Communicates basic financial policies pertaining to insurance coverage, collects copays, and self-pay payments
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2 years' experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Scheduler OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, confidentiality, HIPAA and electronic health record systems preferred Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs
- Must be able to maintain a sitting position
