Job Description

Spend an unforgettable summer serving with Lutherhaven Ministries in beautiful North Idaho! Camp counselors, lifeguards, cooks, kitchen assistants, wranglers… there are all sorts of jobs open at summer camp! Summer jobs are available at Camp Lutherhaven on Lake Coeur d'Alene and at Shoshone Mountain Retreat & Ranch in the Bitterroot Mountains. Camp staff positions are tremendously rewarding, incredibly challenging, and almost always life-changing. Most of all, kids today need you! We look forward to serving alongside you! Summer Health Care Lead The Summer Health Care Lead plays a critical role in keeping our campers and staff healthy, safe, and well cared for throughout the summer. Working closely with the rotating Volunteer Health Care Managers, this individual will lead the day-to-day operations of Camp Lutherhaven's Health Care Center. Flexibility, adaptability, and calm under pressure are essential qualities in this position. Camp is full of surprises, and the Health Care Lead must be ready to handle anything from bug bites to broken bones with grace, professionalism, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities:
Health Care Center Operations Set up, organize, and maintain the Health Care Center for summer use Track and communicate medication restocking needs and supply usage Maintain cleanliness, inventory, and readiness of medical spaces Camper and Staff Care Provide basic health care, first aid, and emergency response to campers and staff following camp Standing Orders Assist with health screenings and intake for arriving campers Administer and track medications through camp software , following state and ACA guidelines Ensure all medical records and documentation are accurate, secure, and up to date Team Collaboration Coordinate with Volunteer Health Care Managers , supporting their work and ensuring a smooth transition each week Communicate with parents/guardians as needed regarding camper health issues Attend Leadership Team meetings (when available) and assist with camp-wide safety protocols Additional Duties Participate in camp life where appropriate, offering emotional support and encouragement to campers and staff Complete end-of-program evaluations and reports Assist in other areas of camp as needed— flexibility is key !
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years or older Must hold current medical certification (RN, LPN, EMT, or equivalent) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Calm and capable in both routine and emergency situations Experience with youth or camp settings is a plus Willing to adapt, serve where needed, and jump into camp life with joy and compassion Base Pay Approximately $375 per week, plus meals and housing (valued at $275 per week) depending on positions and experience. That's between $3900 and $4100 for a full summer, plus $2750 in housing and meals!
