Join our team as an Administrative Skills Specialist , where you'll serve as an important communication hub for our healthcare team. In this fast-paced role, you'll manage incoming communications, coordinate urgent and time-sensitive consultations, and ensure requests are directed to the appropriate department or care team member. You'll work closely with Emergency Department physicians, specialty providers, nurses, CNAs, and other members of the care team to support timely communication and efficient patient care operations. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable multitasking across multiple systems, and able to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Starting wage:
$18.74 per hour Night and Weekend Shift Differential eligible Schedule Weekend night shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Opportunities for professional growth and advancement What You Can Expect As an Administrative Skills Specialist, you will: Answer and manage incoming calls related to emergent and time-sensitive consultations, Emergency Department physician requests, specialty services, referrals, and other urgent healthcare needs Assess the nature and urgency of requests and direct calls to the appropriate department, provider, or care team member Coordinate communication between Emergency Department physicians, specialty providers, nurses, CNAs, and other healthcare team members Work closely with Charge Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support patient care operations and efficient communication Navigate and monitor on-call schedules to identify the appropriate specialty provider and facilitate timely communication Utilize multiple healthcare systems and communication platforms, including Epic, Everbridge, Lightning Bolt Manage multiple priorities and competing requests while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail Provide excellent customer service and use effective de-escalation and communication skills when interacting with individuals who may be frustrated, upset, or experiencing a stressful situation Make appropriate decisions with limited information and recognize when a situation requires escalation to a nurse, provider, or other appropriate team member Participate in training and support team members with department workflows, systems, and processes Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications Administrative, healthcare support, or customer service experience. Preferred experience with Epic EHR. Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems simultaneously. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Professional and customer-focused approach to handling calls and communications.
