The Community Hospital of Staunton President provides leadership and is responsible and accountable for the overall performance and operational planning of Community Hospital of Staunton and the Community Hospital of Staunton Foundation. This will be accomplished in concert with Anderson Healthcare strategic direction and in partnership with members of the hospital's Board of Trustees and Medical Staff.
Position Description:
The President of Community Hospital of Staunton directs the staff and operations of Community Hospital of Staunton. The President will manager the coordinate hospital and foundation activities. This leader will serve as the hospital's primary representative to the Hospital Medical Staff, to the Hospital Auxiliary, and to the Board of Trustees. The President will develop and operationalize programs to realize hospital objectives and pursue excellence in clinical, financial and operational performance. The successful candidate will manager an environment with a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement, service excellence, physician alignment and service to the community.
Reporting Relationships :
The President will report to the Community Hospital of Staunton Board of Trustees and the President/CEO of Anderson Healthcare. The leadership team supporting the President includes: Director of Nursing Director, Radiology Services Manager, Laboratory Services Manager, Rehabilitation Services Manager, Pharmacy Services Manager, Cardiopulmonary Services Manager, Senior Life Services Practice Manager, Community Clinic of Staunton Supervisor, Scheduling and Specialty Clinic The President will also have operational supervision of Anderson Healthcare staff providing service at Community Hospital of Staunton.
Responsibilities :
The President will be accountable for achievement of assigned success metrics for Community Hospital of Staunton.
The President will:
Embrace and exemplify the mission and values and ensure they are consistently communicated and evident throughout the hospital. Foster a culture of trust between administration and the physicians and staff. They will be seen as a decisive individual with impeccable follow through. Continue to communicate a clear and compelling vision of the future to physicians and staff inspiring all to work toward that vision. Promote a culture of open communication and collaboration with physicians, clinicians and staff to create highly satisfied staff as demonstrated by engagement scores and depth of talent leadership positions. Grow the hospital's presence locally by creating and maintaining productive relationships with other health care organizations, business, community, civic and other key leaders. Be responsive to the needs of the community and develop strong partnerships collaborating with community leaders to ensure the organization is meeting the needs locally. Understand the complexities of the rural healthcare landscape and coordinate services with Anderson Hospital, Maryville. Create responsive and proactive operating processes and systems in order to meet market pressures and growth. Continue to identify efficiencies with the delivery of care and foster a culture of excellent, proactive customer service. Advance a culture of accountability and establish clear lines of authority and decision making. Hold people accountable to the achievement of high standards and the strategic goals for Hospital. Foster a culture where there is strong organizational pride across all team members, nurses, physicians and stakeholders. Focus on strong staff satisfaction and engagement metrics. Maintain high visibility with the medical staff and facilitate smooth communication between physicians including serving as representative of the hospital at medical staff meetings. Create strong alignment and an environment of collaboration with physicians. Hold the management team accountable to achieve organization and individual performance objectives through regular feedback and coaching to support their ongoing growth and development. Demonstrate a commitment to quality in the organization with a continuous focus on the patient. Serve in a fundraising capacity for the Hospital Foundation soliciting major gifts from potential donors. Meet or exceed financial, quality and operational objectives established by Anderson Healthcare annually. Serve as the hospital representative to government representatives and Illinois Hospital Association. Manager providers and staff at Community Rural Health Clinic to optimize operational effectiveness. Serves on the
Board of Friends of Community Hospital of Staunton Qualifications Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level:
Advanced degree in the healthcare field (preferred) and board certification in American College of Healthcare Executives.
Experience Requirements :
Broad understanding of rural healthcare issues; thorough knowledge of hospital operations, management principles, practices and methods; balanced experience in clinical settings, finance and administration in a hospital environment; seasoned and successful leadership experience. Ten (10) years' experience in a hospital Administrative level position with evidence of successful implementation of projects and operational success. Thorough financial understanding of critical access hospital reimbursement methodology and organizational requirements. The most significant job duties have been included in this description.
