Job Description

Overview Ambulatory Patient Care Coordinator is an essential part of the healthcare team, ensuring smooth operations and a high level of patient satisfaction in outpatient or ambulatory care settings. This role involves coordinating patient care processes, managing appointments, collaborating with medical staff, and ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care. Special Instructions Ambulatory Patient Care Coordinator Position for
ARH Family and Specialty Clinic Paintsville Responsibilities Patient Scheduling and Coordination:
Schedule and manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and other procedures to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times.
Patient Communication:
Serve as the liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and providing detailed information about treatments and services.
Care Planning:
Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans, ensuring that all necessary services and treatments are coordinated effectively.
Documentation and Records Management:
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans, in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Insurance and Authorization:
Work with insurance providers to verify coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures and treatments. Collaboration with
Medical Staff:
Partner with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care and address any patient concerns.
Quality Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve patient care processes and assist in implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and satisfaction. Qualifications Education (experience can be substituted for education) High School Diploma Required Graduate of Medical Assistant Training Program Preferred Work Experience (education can be substituted for experience) Up to 1 year Three (3) to six (6) months on-the-job training as required to attain proficiency of assigned duties and responsibilities if not certified.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Organizational Skills:
Excellent time-management and organizational capabilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to handle patient concerns and resolve scheduling conflicts with professionalism and efficiency.
Empathy:
A patient-centered approach, demonstrating understanding and compassion for individuals receiving care.
Teamwork:
A collaborative mindset to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Attention to
Detail:
Up to date record-keeping and detail-oriented work to ensure accuracy in patient care coordination.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in using EMR systems and office software.
Multitasking Ability:
Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Clinical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Licenses and Certifications Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program. Preferred
