Job Description:
The Diagnostic Lead Tech will oversee the daily workflow of the diagnostic area of the Radiology department for the respective shift. The Diagnostic Lead Tech has a thorough knowledge and proficiency in the skills of the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist. The Diagnostic Lead Tech supports and contributes to the department and hospital objectives by assisting the Administrative Director, Operations Manager, and Diagnostic Coordinator by giving guidance and instruction to employees supervised. The Diagnostic Lead Tech acts as liaison between the department and all ULH customers. The Diagnostic Lead Tech complies with and enforces established policy and procedure of the department and hospital as well as requirements of accrediting bodies. Essential Functions Oversees patient workflow to ensure optimum efficiency Assigns daily task to staff and ensures equitable distribution of work volume. Monitors productivity/ budgets employee hours Ensures that lunches and breaks are taken Monitors pending orders and ensures completion/follow through Solves staffing issues that arise in the case of employee callouts Reports malfunctioning equipment and systems appropriately Works with staff to ensure films of high diagnostic quality are submitted for interpretation Provides orientation to new staff in the Diagnostic area Assesses competency for staff by timely completion of orientation and competency checklists Performs duties of a staff technologist Monitors inventory of necessary supplies for daily operations Acts as liaison/resource for all modalities within Radiology Imaging Services Displays a positive image of the department and hospital Achieves excellence through teamwork by enhancing communications with employees, inspiring them to live the values, share the vision and goals of University Hospital Ensures that the department operates within all hospital guidelines, policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned

Licensure:
Graduate of a JRCERT approved Radiologic Technologist program ARRT Registry, KY Radiation Operator Certification (KBMIRT)
BLS Experience:
Two (2) years as a general radiographer, One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
