Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Biotech Description Holyoke Medical Center is searching for a Behavioral Health Admissions Department Coordinator to assist in the management of patient care and supervision of assigned staff and to provide safe and effective care consistent with the hospital#s mission. Accountabilities include Assisting patients in moving as safely and effectively as possible through the period of hospitalization; positive customer relations through the effective use of interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications; Facilitate patient throughput to include admissions, Discharges, and external referrals. This includes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders related to patients being admitted, referred, or externally presented. Coordinate admissions and referrals to maintain census of the inpatient behavioral health units at budget levels. This includes making determinations on unit acuity, patient appropriateness, and when applicable denial of presented patients and maintenance of mandated logs related to denials. Will be responsible for readmission DMH reports and DMH expedite communication. Maintain availability for on call time during off hours for coordination of above tasks and others as needed for operations of the behavioral health services. #
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN and Healthcare Related Masters required; or
LICSW/LMHC.
Certification Preferred Licenses/Registrations:
Current license within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse or independently licensed clinician; current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation; current CPI certification required.
Experience:
Three years# experience in mental health or psychiatric nursing and 3 years of direct behavioral health hospital leadership.
