Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support throughout their healthcare journey. This position requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and processes. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for managing patient interactions, coordinating care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and support. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic. Verify insurance coverage and assist with medical billing processes. Maintain accurate medical records using various EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and Dentrix. Conduct documentation reviews to ensure compliance with CPT coding and
ICD-10/ICD-9
standards. Assist in the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Handle medical collections and follow up on outstanding balances. Ensure confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care. Utilize Microsoft Office and other computer skills for clerical tasks including filing, typing, and data entry. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred; experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist is a plus. Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management practices. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and patient records management. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Proficient in using multi-line phone systems and demonstrating professional phone etiquette. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in insurance verification processes is beneficial.
