Job Summary:
The Medical Services Coordinator is responsible for a variety of medical office clerical duties, administrative tasks, coordinating all medical appointments, and coordinating all outside medical vendors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Greet patients, families, and vendors in a professional manner Update appropriate staff regarding patients' appointments with physicians, outside consultants, laboratories, while maintaining confidentiality pertaining to patients and their families Administrative tasks to include management of physicians' calendars, knowing the whereabouts of staff and patients in the medical suite, providing patient appointment reminders, answering medical department phone calls, and maintaining the medical office (i.e. stocking and ordering supplies, and addressing general upkeep of the office) Type and proof correspondence, reports, proposals, and all related medical materials Schedule patient appointments with all members of the MARC medical team and outside providers, answer general questions, obtain authorizations and pre-authorizations for patient care services Assist in interviewing candidates for positions and training/orientation schedules of new hires within the medical department Complete required paperwork and documentation Monitor medical professionals' progress on documentation to ensure documentation remains in compliance Coordinate with lab regarding patient urinalysis, test pickups (LabCorp or FedEx), set up lab orders for new admissions when needed, and insert laboratory and medical record reports into patient charts Perform urinalysis with patients as needed Maintain regular communication with Support Services department to coordinate documentation of daily prescription logs and discontinued medications Attend/complete annual mandatory trainings as assigned by the company Maintain security camera logs, refrigerator/freezer logs in the medical suite Implement changes or enhancements to procedures to improve productivity, efficiency, and service Comply with company and department policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control, and with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies Follow all policies and procedures of the agency Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
