Job Description

Description The Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator collaborates with program director and program faculty to oversee student clinical education. They oversee clinical education to ensure adherence to program policies and accreditation standards, and act as a liaison between the program, students, and clinical affiliates. This involves coordinating clinical experiences, evaluating clinical sites, assessing student performance, communicating program details to clinical staff, refining evaluation tools, creating student schedules, assessing professionalism, and overseeing evaluations. The coordinator is also responsible for conducting clinical site visits, managing the clinical management system, teaching didactic and laboratory classes, and working with the program director to enhance the clinical aspect of the program. The coordinator will uphold current standards set forth by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology(JRC/ERT).The coordinator may also assist in student onboarding ,dosimetry monitoring, and other duties as assigned by the program director. #HEJ Examples of Duties 1. Acts a liaison between the program, students and clinical sites. 2. Prepares clinical rotation schedules each semester. 3. Coordinates student clinical practice with clinical managers. 4. Prepares courses of study and all supporting materials needed to deliver courses according to the standards required in the program and meet institutional standards for faculty. 5. Teaches positioning and/or didactic courses. 6. Provides information about the clinical education program and clinical competency process system for students and hospital clinical staff. 7. Record keeping and maintenance in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations. 8. Tracks attendance and student clinical experiences. 9. Reviews performance evaluations and counsels students. 10. Holds meetings with students to evaluate clinical progress and discuss methods for remediation. 11. Maintains records of student clinical experience including competencies. 12. Provides demonstration of radiographic procedures. 13. Provides supervised practice of radiographic procedures. 14. Performs image analysis and competency examinations with students. 15. Evaluates student's ability to perform image evaluation and ability to solve problems. 16. Monitors student performance and clinical site evaluations and addresses problems. 17. Conducts final examinations and submits course grades. 18. Assesses each assigned course, analyzes the results, designs and implements changes for improvement. 19. Reviews evaluation instruments for effectiveness and suggests changes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree minimum requirement. Holds American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in radiography in good standing, and an unrestricted Maryland licensure to practice radiography with two years clinical experience in general radiography. At least one year of experience as an instructor in a JRC/ERT accredited program. Demonstrates a positive attitude toward program goals, teaching, and the students, as well as competency in instructional techniques. Physical Requirements Most of the job is sedentary, however, occasional periods of light work may be required; Lifting up to approximately 35 lbs. occasionally. The worker may be exposed to primarily to inside office conditions. Visual acuity appropriate for an administrative position, Hearing, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching - occasionally, Climbing stairs - occasionally, Walking, frequently, Occasional travel may be required Please note that this position is in the full-time faculty bargaining unit, which is represented by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Maryland.
