Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and compassionate Hospice Administrator to lead , grow and oversee the operational excellence of our hospice care services. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate clinical operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a patient-centered environment that emphasizes dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Your leadership will drive the delivery of exceptional hospice care while managing staff, resources, and community relationships to support our mission of compassionate end-of-life care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through effective management and innovative care strategies. Ideal candidate will be an experience hospice administrator with a proven track record of leading a team and successfully growing census. Would consider other candidates with related health care leadership experience. Responsibilities Oversee daily hospice operations, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical teams, administrative staff, and external partners. Be the leader of the sales/marketing process and contibute to census growth. Manage clinical staff including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and case managers, providing supervision and fostering professional development. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards for patient privacy and confidentiality. Develop and monitor budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource utilization to maintain financial sustainability. Implement utilization management protocols to ensure appropriate patient care levels and effective case management. Oversee medical records documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of medical records and medical terminology. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs across settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals—including Level I Trauma Centers—and home care environments. Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient care outcomes, safety protocols, and staff performance metrics. Foster strong relationships with community partners to promote hospice services and support senior care initiatives. Experience Proven supervisory experience in healthcare settings such as hospice care, nursing homes, hospitals (including ICU or emergency medicine units), or senior living communities. Extensive background in critical care environments like Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Experience managing healthcare teams within acute care or hospital medicine contexts is preferred. Familiarity with healthcare management practices including budgeting, utilization management, case management, and medical records administration. Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems for documentation and data analysis. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to hospice care, ICU experience, nurse management, home care services, and HIPAA compliance standards. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
