We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women's health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratorytherapyand rehabilitation therapy services. What You'll Do The Patient Access Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Emergency Room and Inpatient Registration and clerical teams to ensure patients are registered accurately, efficiently, and with excellent customer service. This role is responsible for reporting to the Director of Patient Access, staff scheduling, workflow management, training, performance oversight, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities Registration Operations Supervise daily registration and clerical activities to ensure accurate and timely patient admissions. Monitor patient flow and resolve registration delays or bottlenecks. Recommend and support system improvements to enhance registration processes. Test system updates and upgrades as needed. Ensure department documentation, reports, forms, and meeting records are completed and maintained. Follow up on patient and staff concerns, complaints, and issues in a timely manner. Staff Supervision & Scheduling Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and fair workload distribution. Adjust staffing levels based on patient volume while minimizing overtime. Recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified staff. Complete employee performance evaluations and maintain personnel records. Manage attendance, timekeeping, and departmental staffing data. Participate in on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Leadership & Team Development Foster a positive team environment and encourage staff involvement in process improvement. Ensure employees receive appropriate training and cross-training. Set performance goals and support employee development. Address performance concerns and uphold accountability through established policies. Prioritize workloads and delegate responsibilities effectively. Support departmental projects, policy development, and committee participation. Financial & Resource Management Monitor staffing and supply usage to manage costs effectively. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings. Assist with budget planning and staffing analysis. Maintain department equipment to support efficient operations. Compliance & Organizational Responsibilities Ensure registration practices meet Medicare, regulatory, and organizational standards. Attend department meetings and complete required education and training. Maintain required certifications and compliance requirements. Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Be available to work additional hours or shifts when needed. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of related work experience required. Previous medical office experience preferred, including at least one year in a healthcare setting. Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred. Knowledge & Skills Basic knowledge of office procedures and medical terminology. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and support team operations. #BHLab26
