Job Description
Summary We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to manage the School Based Health Center at Deer River High School. This full-time position involves overseeing the daily operations of the health center, ensuring that students have access to essential health services. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, healthcare providers, and community organizations to promote student health and well-being while fostering a supportive environment for students. The ideal candidate would also be able to teach a Health Care Careers elective class. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the School Based Health Center, ensuring compliance with health regulations and school policies. Develop and implement health programs and services tailored to the needs of the student population. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and community organizations to promote health initiatives and educational programs. Maintain accurate records of student visits, services provided, and health outcomes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Facilitate communication between students, parents, and healthcare providers regarding health services and resources available. Teach a Health Care Careers elective class. May help with some school nursing coverage within the district. Prepare and manage the health center budget, including tracking expenditures and seeking funding opportunities as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, or a related field; RN preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in health program management, preferably in a school or community health setting. Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Proficiency in data management and reporting, with experience using electronic health record systems preferred. Knowledge of local health resources and community organizations. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
