Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical supervision, program leadership, and operational management for the Family Focused Intensive In-Home Program serving children from birth through age 5 and their families. This role oversees the delivery of child and family therapeutic services, ensuring high-quality, relationship-based, and developmentally informed care that meets program and agency standards. Working collaboratively with the Day Treatment Program and other Early Childhood services, this position supports coordinated care, program effectiveness, and positive outcomes for children and families. The role directly supervises up to 10 Intensive In-Home Clinicians, providing clinical guidance, professional development, performance management, and support to ensure excellence in service delivery. The position serves as a key leader within the Family Focused program, promoting staff engagement, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-informed clinical services. Clinical Performance and Documentation - The Family Focused birth to 5 Supervisor is to ensure the Family Focused clinicians are performing and documenting treatment best practices by being responsible for the following: Ensure clinicians provide effective assessment and therapeutic services: Provide training as needed to support Family Focused clinicians May provide CPP training/support to staff Ensure referrals and requests for services are triaged for program fit, responded to, and processed efficiently and effectively to help clients access services and referral services Collaborate with intake and referring clinicians in assigning internal referrals to the Family Focused program while ensuring clinicians maintain a manageable caseload Work with Washburn Center clinical, support, and reimbursement staff to refine and streamline systems to improve client access Oversee use of effective care coordination and crisis response services Participate in developing standards and training related to culturally responsive clinical practice Maintain knowledge of and supervise staff ensuring practice is consistent with the Agency's Clinical Policies and Procedures Support clinicians through crisis management as needed Provide regular clinical/reflective supervision to assist clinical staff in developing and providing effective therapeutic services on a case-by-case basis as well as to support clinicians to develop their clinical skills and ensure high quality clinical care Ensure staff are using evidence-based practices if appropriate. Maintain knowledge of both established and emerging treatment practices and implement as appropriate. Assist clinicians through case consultations and strategizing to determine and implement the correct clinical interventions on a case-by-case basis Oversee clinical documentation practices to meet state and contract requirements Review charts, sign-off, and discuss assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, clinical supervision, and other clinical documentation for unlicensed clinicians and for staff that need support in these areas to review quality and accuracy to meet state DHS and other contracted requirements Ensure that MN and HIPPA data privacy requirements are followed Outcomes collection Support staff in collecting outcomes data and use as appropriate for consultation, evaluation, quality improvement, and reporting purposes Provide feedback regarding outcomes for contracts and grants Supervision and Leadership - The Family Focused Supervisor is to provide effective leadership in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff through the following responsibilities: Work with HR staff and other program staff as needed to recruit, interview, and hire qualified staff Oversee supervision of interns that are part of the Clinical Internship Program, if applicable Complete timely annual performance evaluations for supervisees and quarterly performance evaluations for new staff Facilitate case consultation meetings and team business meetings Provide weekly individual and/or group supervision as appropriate for program clinicians Provide resources, training, feedback, and activities as needed to build a cohesive, productive team Create a positive, respectful work environment Provide indirect evaluation and supervision of support staff for the Family Focused program Collaborate with the clinical supervisor's team and internal administrative teams to ensure continuous improvement for various processes and systems across the Agency Build a learning and growth centered environment by supporting personal and professional development of clinicians and managing talent by working with HR in identifying top performers and developing succession plans Program Management - The Family Focused Supervisor is to oversee program productivity, budgeting, and required reporting including the following responsibilities: Develop and maintain systems and relationships to maintain budgeted utilization for program services Ensure clients are receiving services consistent with the program model Collaborate with intake coordinators and clinicians to facilitate assignment of clients through intake and to manage caseload for each outpatient clinician Participate in program budget development and monitor revenue and expenses. Review utilization and financial reports, monitor trends, and develop follow-up plans with the Clinical Director, the Director of Operations, and the HR Director as needed Reporting and Program Oversight Work with program support staff and directors to complete required narratives for grant reports Work with the Program Directors to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and licensing guidelines and requirements, e.g., Rule 29, DHS Provider Manual Chapter 16, grievance logs, supervision logs, and data privacy Teamwork and Cooperation -The Family Focused Supervisor is to participate in and contribute to other agency teams and meetings as needed, including: Participate in ongoing Agency committees or teams, e.g., accounts receivable, Inclusion TALX, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, in-service planning, etc. Meet regularly with the Clinical Director to communicate program updates and changes Participate in external meetings with other providers, referral sources, payers, and other stakeholders as needed to develop relationships, generate referrals, or improve systems Actively participate with the clinical supervisor's team including participation in work groups, planning retreats and trainings, and other team initiatives as identified Collaborate regularly with the Clinical Director and the other Family Focused Supervisors and EC programs to monitor program management, performance issues, team building initiatives, and ensure continuous improvement on program process Professional Development and Training - The Family Focused Supervisor is to ensure new staff complete all trainings and ongoing professional development required for program clinicians, including: Lead team diversity and cultural responsiveness efforts by providing resources, training, and activities to promote cultural responsiveness practice and integrate consideration of cultural dynamics in supervision, training, consultation, and documentation Participate in planning Agency-wide and team training events Assist staff and determine readiness for intern supervision. Oversee development of training schedule with HR and program support staff for all new staff to attend agency onboarding training, i.e., HR Orientation, data privacy, EHR training, and a review of the Clinical Policies and Procedures Doctoral or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy is required 4 - 6 years' experience in providing mental health services to children and families is required Clinical Supervision experience is strongly preferred CPP training and/or supervision is required Experience in providing mental health treatment to the birth to six age group is required Valid MN Licensure as a Mental Health Professional with the State Board of Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Behavioral Health and Therapy is required DC 0-5 Trained is required Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) Trained is strongly preferred
