About Northern Montana Hospital Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window. Administration, staff, and medical providers are committed to delivering high quality, comprehensive health care services to the people of the Hi-Line communities of Montana. Specialties of our active staff of doctors include Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Pathology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology and Women's Health. For the convenience of our patients, we also host visiting physicians at our clinics in the areas of: Cardiology Neurology Pediatric Pulmonology Urology Radiation Oncology Nephrology Endocrinology Optometry About the role The Secretary Technician is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations and identifying pay sources for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services. Collaborates with Rehab Director to manage co-pays, monthly billing, and other patient transactions. Competent with all secretary/technician duties, demonstrating ability to float as needed and help with training new employees. Assists with managing rehab office as appropriate in absence of Rehab Director. Takes into consideration patient and visitor needs based on gender, age, cultural differences, and educational needs. Qualifications Ability to learn from others, use individual initiative to learn by studying and practicing proven methods. Ability to hold in confidence all personal, hospital, and professional matters. Ability to deal tactfully and empathetically with patients. Attain a basic knowledge of the theories, technique and practices of general Rehab Therapy. Adequate initiative and judgment involved in the use of equipment and handling and scheduling of patients. Ability to schedule patients with minimal conflicts. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to use computer keyboard and word processing software.
