  • 8:30pm Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a high-volume clinical laboratory environment focused on Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunodiagnostics.
This role ensures operational excellence through effective leadership, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, staff development, and process improvement initiatives. The supervisor partners closely with laboratory leadership, pathologists, and clinical stakeholders to maintain efficient workflows, accurate testing, strong employee engagement, and exceptional service standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in core laboratory disciplines along with proven leadership experience in laboratory operations or team supervision. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient testing services. Provide leadership and operational direction for Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunodiagnostic testing areas. Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to support organizational quality, patient safety, and service initiatives. Monitor workflow, staffing, productivity, and resource utilization to maintain operational performance goals. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards. Serve as a technical expert and competency assessor for laboratory systems, procedures, and instrumentation. Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, service excellence, and employee engagement. Develop and maintain effective communication across laboratory teams and organizational partners. Participate in strategic planning and implementation of process improvements, technology enhancements, and standardization initiatives. Coach, mentor, and develop laboratory staff while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. Assist with hiring, training, performance management, corrective actions, and employee development activities. Maintain readiness for inspections and audits through ongoing compliance monitoring and documentation review. Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and ethical conduct within the department. Education Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related scientific discipline required. Certifications One of the following certifications is required: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • ASCP Medical Technologist (MT)
  • ASCP Or other applicable laboratory specialty certification relevant to area of responsibility.
Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory operations required. Prior leadership experience strongly preferred, including experience as a Lead Technologist, Team Lead, Supervisor, or Manager. Strong background in Chemistry and Hematology required. Experience in Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunodiagnostics highly preferred. Previous laboratory management or operational leadership experience strongly desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership, decision-making, and team development skills. Knowledge of laboratory regulatory and accreditation requirements. Experience with laboratory information systems and computerized laboratory operations. Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong focus on quality, operational efficiency, and customer service.
