Job Purpose:
Supports the Nurse Manager in coordinating daily operations across inpatient units on the 3rd and 4th floors Serves as a clinical leader, resource, and role model to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care Promotes staff development, operational consistency, and performance improvement initiatives Scope of Role Provides coordination and leadership across multiple inpatient units (3rd and 4th floor) Ensures standardization of practice, communication, and workflows across both units Serves as a primary clinical and operational resource for staff and leadership Key Responsibilities- Clinical Operations Supports coordination of daily patient care activities Ensures care aligns with organizational standards Acts as a clinical resource for complex patient care situations Promotes consistency in workflows and documentation Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Staff Development Coaches and mentors frontline staff Supports orientation and ongoing education Provides real-time feedback for accountability Promotes teamwork, communication, and ownership Key Responsibilities
- Communication & Coordination Facilitates communication between staff, providers, and departments Escalates patient care or operational concerns Supports interdisciplinary collaboration Serves as a change agent for initiatives Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Performance Improvement Participates in quality and safety initiatives Monitors performance trends and supports action planning Assists with audits and compliance monitoring Identifies opportunities to improve outcomes and efficiency Other Information Other information: Qualifications Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred Professional Experience Requirement Two years relevant RN experience; Charge Nurse/Preceptor experience preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and BLS certification required.
