DEFINITION OF POSITION

The Patient Accounts Systems Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the Billing Team members' daily activities and performance; Is the primary billing and follow-up trainer for the team; Works billing and collection queues as assigned; Acts as a liaison between the patients and their respective insurance companies; Develops, implements and modifies workflows, as needed, with department leaders to ensure accurate billing processes; Works to ensure departmental goals are met; Maintains compliance with policies and procedures; Fosters effective public relations with patients and the public.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional High School diploma or equivalent required. Healthcare reimbursement position that would indicate knowledge of technical insurance terms is desirable Computer and keyboard skills required; type 30 wpm Five Years previous work experience in registration; admissions, insurance billing or healthcare field desirable Medical Terminology Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Active listening skills. Critical Thinking and cognitive skills Excellent Customer Service experience
