Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Health and Wellness Director is responsible for all operations of our health and wellness department and facilities, including but not limited to: staff scheduling, ensuring safety and cleanliness of the fitness center/group exervcise/functional training center, department budgets, incentive programs and maintenance of the equipment in the fitness center.
Qualifications:
KNOW HOW
  • Minimum of High School Diploma (nationally accredited certification in personal training/group exercise is a plus)
  • 4 year degree in health and wellness or related field/work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in fitness field and customer service
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be attentive to details, be able to work with and meet deadlines, take initiative to develop and provide information and controls necessary for efficient office operations
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent human relation skills and member service skills
  • Must be able to take initiative in making decisions and solving problems in the areas of assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to represent the YMCA in a responsible and professional manner
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a team
  • Display a personal commitment to consistent quality customer service
